Wearables meets IoT at Smart IoT London

Smart IoT London

This coming week, wearables meet IoT at the biggest dedicated show of its kind so far – Smart IoT in London. WearableTechWatch will be there, with editor-in-chief Simon Jones on the panel of judges for the Innovative Launchpad Theater.

On Tuesday April 12 and Wednesday April 13, industry experts including Simon – who is also on the event’s Board of Patrons – will be putting start-ups through their paces as they pitch their IoT technologies, dragon’s den-style.

Speakers include Oliver Armitage at Cambridge Bio-Augmentation Systems, who will explain his idea for a USB port” for connecting biology and technology, Radu Diaconescu from Swissmic SA, who will talk about the Industrial IoT for Distributed Manufacturing, and Marc Zornes at Winnow, who will explain what sounds like a very clever idea for using IoT to drive down food waste at Restaurant Associates.

Additional eye-catchers on the two-day agenda include David Rogers at Copper Horse, who will explain to panelists why “You are not the product – approaching IoT with privacy and security in mind”, and Dr Shafi Ahmed at Medical Realities will talk about the use of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in medical education – something we think will be going mainstream in the next decade.

Smart IoT London takes place at ExCel, and registration is free. If you can’t make it in person, you can follow the event on Twitter via the hashtag Smart_IoT.
